I agree completely. The problem is that these other sizes are not standard except for the thumbnail, secondarythumbnal and original. All other sizes are optional so I can't rely on them being there. Secondly, CS give me all original pictures as soon as I connect so the originals are already there. It is easy to change this behaviour of CS but it would require an update of the CS server software and not everybody is able or willing to install a third-party update on CS. So an option would be to humbly get the CS guys to change CS and at the same time allow the thumbnail and the secondarythumbnail to be selected right now.

Good sugestion! I'll see what I can do.

Have you thought about using the dynamic links for controlling the size? I've been posting images to blogs and just linking them to a the 640x480.aspx link for the individual photo in a gallery. This would allow you to offer a drop down for standard image sizes and an option to specify a custom image size.

I may pull down the code and see what it would take to add this.

Just a suggestion for when you feel like working on something different: It would be nice to have your plugin save the settings used for the last image inserted so that one does not have to enter each setting (i.e. alignment, margins, etc.) each time they insert an image. Keep up the great work!

I am quite familiar with CS, there should be some way to query for the available sizes as the gallery pages in CS show the available sizes.

Although a commandline msi build is available, before running it you need to compile three projects by hand. This should be automated.

The tricky part of building an MSI is the locating of the WLW Plugin folder. Currently I am investigating WiX (WiX.sourceforge.net) as the regular setup and deployment projects of Visual Studio do not allow you the execute custom actions like finding WLW before the actual install. This has been fixed with release 2.0 also a bootstrapper for .NET 2.0 has been added. Comments: Done

Currently the images reside twice in cache memory: 1. the images itself in raw format and 2. a generated thumbnail 100px wide. These thumbnails take time to generate and take up memory. Test to see if the raw pictures can replace the thumbnails Comments: Done. No thumbnail generation anymore and saving memory by only keeping the original image in memory.
